The specifications requirements and other design recommendations and considerations summarized in this Manual apply in general to the design and construction of seismic force-resisting systems in steel buildings and other structures. This Manual is intended to be applied in conjunction with the AISC Steel Construction Manual 2023, which provides guidance of the use of the AISC Specifications for Structural Steel Buildings (AISC 2022a).
