    Description
Here's a course description for "Gravimetric Data for Mining and Oil & Gas Exploration": This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and applications of gravimetric data in the exploration for mineral and hydrocarbon resources, both Oil&Gas and Whyte Hydrogen. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of gravity measurements, including the physics behind gravity anomalies and the various instruments used for data acquisition (e.g., gravimeters, gradiometers), but the the most important part of course is fouced on pratical case study, analyzing acquiring data , usign free Python Tools and Commercial Software like Oasis Montaj.

The curriculum covers essential data processing techniques, such as drift correction, terrain correction, and Bouguer anomaly calculation, crucial for isolating subsurface density variations.

A significant portion of the course will focus on the interpretation of gravity maps and models to identify geological structures, delineate ore bodies, and map basin architectures relevant to mining and oil & gas exploration. Case studies from diverse geological settings will illustrate practical applications, including the detection of massive sulfides, iron ore deposits, and salt domes. The course will also touch upon integration with other geophysical methods, like elettromagnetic and remote sensing, trough case history. Prior knowledge of basic physics and geology is recommended, but also physical terrestial and geodesy.
