Revit for Architectural Design - Essentials (2024)

The course provides training in the usage of Revit software for the architectural design of buildings.

    What you'll learn:
Develop building information models for building projects.
Position the building information model using a coordinate system.
Import toposolids to the model in three different ways.
Use the basic drawing and modifying tools to edit objects of the model.
Place walls to the building model.
Introduce doors and windows to the building.
Create floors to the building model.
Add columns to the building model.
Place ceiling objects in two different ways.
Add roofs to the building in two different ways.
    Use stairs, railings, and ramps.
Create rooms and areas of the building.
Introduce annotations to present information to the model views.
    Produce schedules and quantity tables.
Present views of the model in six different ways.
Create construction sheets to present the views of the model.
Develop in-place mass objects using three different techniques.
Place two different types of details to the model.
    Create groups of model elements.
Control the visibility and graphics of elements using object styles.
    Assign materials to model elements.

    Requirements:
Experience using the Windows operating system.
Good knowledge of technical drawing principles.
Experience in the development of construction drawings.

    Description:
The Revit for Architectural Design - Essentials course was designed for construction industry professionals who are involved in the architectural design of buildings. We are going to start with an introduction of Revit, covering its graphic user interface, and how to view an existing model. Then we are going to learn how to create a new project and to position it in the 3D space. We are going to show how to place toposolids to model the ground and the site.Next, we are going to demonstrate how to create model elements, such as walls, doors, windows, floors, columns, ceilings, roofs, stairs and ramps. These are the building blocks for creating a building model. We are then going to learn how to split the building model into rooms and areas. We are going to develop views of the model that include 3D views, 2D views, sections, camera views, and walkthroughs. In addition, we are going to explain how to add annotations such as text and dimensions, and tags to the elements. We are going to show how to place details to enrich the construction documentation. Subsequently, we are going to place the views on sheets so as to print them.A highly useful feature in building information models that we are going to present is the creation of schedules and quantity tables. The course is highly practical. Lectures are used to demonstrate the usage of the program. During the course trainees will develop their own building information model, which is an excellent way to demonstrate their expertise.

    Who this course is for:
This course was designed for construction industry professionals who are involved in the architectural design of buildings.
