Use CSI SAFE to Analyze and Design Building Foundations

Analyzing and designing real world building foundations with CSI SAFE made easy!!

    What you'll learn
    Isolated footing design
    Combined footing design
    Mat or Raft footing design
Importing the base reactions from Etabs
    Defining the soil properties(Subgrade modulus)

    Requirements
    You should been attentive
You should be determine to learn
Some basic knowledge in civil engineering
You should have CSI SAFE installed in your computer. If you don't have the software, i will put a link on the intro video. You can get the software using the link.

    Description
This course covers everything you need to know in order to be able to design an isolated footing, combined footing, and raft or mat footing. The footings will be designed using Csi safe software which is one of the most commonly used software when designing building Foundations.

Designing foundations or footings using CSI safe software will save you a lot of time and the result from this software has been tested numerous times and has been found to be pretty reliable.

The course is divided into three sections. The first section starts with isolated footings. This is where you get to understand what is isolated footings, why we use isolated footings in buildings, the benefits of using isolated footings, and how to properly analyzed and design isolated footings. The second section discusses combined footings. The last section will round up with raft or mat footings.

The reactions from the base of the structure will be imported from Etabs to Csi safe. These reactions will be used to design the footing.

Two methods of design are discussed. The strip-based method and the finite element-based method. Stip is drawn on the footing in x and y directions. The reinforcement which is needed for the footing will be displayed on the strip. The finite element-based method will use color contours to display the reinforcement which is needed for the footing.
