Preface
Earthquake Resistant Engineering Structures Conference was held in
Thessaloniki organised by the School of Engineering of Aristotle University and
the Wessex Institute of Technology. Since then it has been reconvened in a series of
outstanding locations and in collaboration with local institutions. The 2011 meeting
was held in Tuscany in a region rich in the type of cultural and architectural heritage
that needs to be protected against earthquakes.
