PREFACE
Ever since Chladni in 1787 observed nodal pattems on square plates at their resonant frequencies, there has been a tremendous research interest in the subject of plate vibrations. To date, abundant thin plate vibration solutions based on the Kirchhoff plate assumptions are available in the literature. A good reference source on this subject may be found in the monograph entitled "Vibration of Plates" by Professor Leissa of The Ohio State University.
